Reigning Nigeria Premier League champions, Rangers International Football Club of Enugu coach, Imama Amapakabo has said that home support of Zamalek won’t make any difference as his team gets set for their encounter against the vice champions of the CAF Total Champions league last season come Sunday.

The coach told ahram.com on Thursday that his side’s mission against Zamalek in the Champions League round of 32 will not be tough, as he believes that the Egyptian team are not better than their preliminary round opponents JS Saoura of Algeria.

The Nigerian side reached the Champions League round of 16 at the expense of JS Saoura on the away goal rule following a 1-1 aggregate draw, while Zamalek, who were the competition’s runners-up in 2016, were exempted from the preliminary round. Zamalek will host Enugu Rangers in the first leg in Cairo on Sunday before playing the second leg in Nigeria one week later.

“I think JS Saoura is a better team than Zamalek I make bold to say that.”

Enugu Rangers – the 2016 Nigerian League champions – are struggling in the Nigerian League this season as they are just above the relegation zone at 16th place on the League table.
