A group of young Nigerian professionals in the United Kingdom, under the aegis Arewa Professionals (AP), has commended wife of the president, Hajia Aisha Buhari and Alhaji Mamman Daura for their roles in stabilising the polity, especially during the president’s medical vacation in the United Kingdom.
The group made the remarks at the weekend after a breakfast meeting with members and friends of the body in London.
The AP reaffirmed its confidence in the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government and said Nigeria is gradually taking its rightful place in the comity of nations. It said Buhari will continue to steer the affairs of the country without bias.
In a statement signed by Alhaji Ahmed Ahmed and Comrade Adams Khalid, Chairman and Spokesperson, respectively, the group said the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the only political party with the masses interests at heart.
“We have diligently followed the activities of the present government and we are more than convinced the future is bright for Nigeria and Nigerians.
“It is pertinent to point out that the current challenges facing Nigeria, is an aftermath of the 16 years bad leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the federal level, from 1999 to 2015.
“Nigeria is blessed as a nation and, as such, Nigerians deserve a good standard of living.
“The APC led government has surely put the country back on track and Nigeria’s lost glory is gradually being restored,” AP said.
The group further said Nigerians in the Diaspora truly believe in a united Nigeria and, thereby, called on the political class to desist from heating the polity with hate speeches.
“Let us continue to support President Muhammad Buhari in his determined efforts to reposition Nigeria for the sake of national well being.”
