The embattled Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Rickey Tarfa has Prayed the Lagos State High Court, Igbosere to quash charge preferred against him by the Economic and Financial. Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Tarfa was arraigned before the court on March 9, by EFCC on a 27-count charge bordering on ‎refusal to declare assets, making false statement, offering gratification to public officer, failure to declare his assets in the Assets declaration Form.
The defendant pleaded not guilty and he was granted bail on self recognition.
At the resumed hearing on Tuesday, the EFCC Prosecutor, Mr Rotimi Oyedipo, told the court that the case was adjourned for
trial.
But counsel to the defendant, Mr Nnaemeka Ngige, told the court that he had filed an application seeking to quash the charge.
He said that he had served the prosecution,
and the prosecution had also relied by serving him counter-affidavit on the application.
He, therefore, urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him respond to the counter-affidavit.
Justice A. A. Akintoye, however, adjourned the case till April 15, for hearing of the application to quash the charge.
