The Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) in Lagos State  rose in defence of the removal of the immediate Presiding Chaplain of the  Chapel  of Christ The Light Church, Ikeja, Lagos,  Rev. Femi Taiwo, by the Lagos State government.

Addressing a press conference, CAN chairman, Alex Bamgbola, said Rev. Taiwo, as an employee of the state government, irrespective of being a Chaplain, could be removed by government at any time.

Taiwo was sacked by the Lagos State Government for allegedly disrespecting the wife of the governor, Bolanle, over administration of anointing oil in the church.
