“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno State, Hon. Kashim Shettima, has hereby dissolved the state executive council,” SSG Shuwa said in the statement.

The Borno State government has announced the dissolution of the state Executive Council comprising about 18 commissioners.

Secretary to the state government (SSG) Alhaji Usman Shuwa, who announced the dissolution in a statement, directed all commissioners to handover their ministries to the respective permanent secretaries on or before Friday, 28th September, 2018.

“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno State, Hon. Kashim Shettima, in accordance with the powers conferred on him by sect. 192 sub-section 2 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, has hereby dissolved the state executive council,” SSG Shuwa said in the statement

He also conveyed the appreciation of the state governor Kashim Shettima to the outgoing commissioners for their services and contributions to the programmes and policies of the government.

The dissolution came ahead of the Saturday gubernatorial primaries of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.
