Hope of early resolution of the lingering industrial action that entered its third week today was again dashed, this afternoon, as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) shunned meeting with the Federal Government.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, who addressed newsmen at the venue of the aborted meeting said government officials were still meeting to consider the “counter offer” to striking lecturers with a viewing to presenting it to the Federal Executive Council tomorrow (Wednesday).

Ngige said the meeting would hold from Thursday.
