Riot in Makurdi: Governor calls for calm, order amid protests

Governor Samuel Ortom on Saturday appealed to protesters in some parts of Makurdi, the state capital, to remain calm and directed security operatives to restore order.

Makurdi residents took to the streets in peaceful protest over the killings in Guma and Logo local Government councils, NAN reports.

Governor Ortom, made the call in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and ICT, Mr Tahav Agerzua in Makurdi.

The governor strongly condemned the protests in some parts of the state capital and directed all security operatives especially, the Commissioner of Police Mr Bashir Makama, to ensure restoration of order in the affected areas.

“The governor appeals to residents to remain calm and report any breach of peace to security agencies for necessary action.

“The state has suffered too much losses in terms of human lives and property and cannot afford another round of crisis.

“The Police should arrest those who cause trouble whoever they are, investigate the causes of the protests, and prosecute those responsible for breach of the peace,” Ortom directed.

He assured Benue people that efforts would be intensified with the collaboration of the relevant security agencies to restore peace and order to all parts of the state.

The only answer is the Sword, not protest, not complain etc. It is Political War- fulani criminal terrorists want to keep their Political Control over this territory of the native at all cost- South East, South South, South West, North East, North West, North Central. Erase the enemy on your native land- the so-called military, police etc. are political mercenaries of the enemy with which the enemy want to keep their Political Control over this territory of the natives at all cost- annihilate them, burn them down on your God given native land, the so-called herdsmen are criminal mercenaries of fulani criminal terrorists hidden under the dead fraudulent political name Nigeria- annihilate them, burn them down. It is Liberation of the natives, Freedom of the natives under the natives Disintegrated Republics, which secures the natives existence and future in 21st century world. God Is With Us!!!

Hello Governor Ortom,we stand by you in this difficult time.Be strong and take courage.I would like you to immortalise this day your people were killed in Benue by the fulani jihadist to become a yearly events to all Benueans.Whatever native name you may call it is left for you so that children of your state yet unborn will grow to read and know the history.
This is also to remind you that you are not what Nigerian politics is potraying you to be.You are a different people, culture, religion, language, etc but due to evil politics in Nigeria your value is being tamperd with.
Last time they struck was either oct.or nov. 2017 killing about five persons,i congratulated Paul Unongo because he is trading on the ancient conscience and spirit of Benueans, idoma, tiv, igalas etc just to himself as an entity.
