From Femi Folaranmi, Yenagoa

Less than 72 hours after Governor Seriake Dickson boosted the security operations of the Bayelsa State Police Command with vehicles donated to Operation Doo Akpo, the police have busted a robbery gang terrorising residents of Azikoro area in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the raid of the school premises where some suspects were arrested, said one of them was arrested in possession of a gun, while investigations were ongoing to arrest other members of the gang.
He said: “Policemen responded to a distress call by a staff of Community Secondary School, Azikoro, Yenagoa, that some boys were gathered around the school premises in a suspicious manner.
“Consequently, plain clothes policemen were dispatched to the scene and arrested one Loveday, 20, of Bakery Road, Azikoro, and recovered a locally-made revolver pistol from him. The suspect has volunteered useful information; efforts have been intensified to arrest his cohorts. Investigation is ongoing.”
