The Bauchi State Police Command has expressed what it termed “her unalloyed support and confidence” in the person and leadership of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr Ibrahim Kpotum Idris.

This was contained in a press release signed by the State Commissioner of Police Mr Sanusi N. Lemu, which was made available to Daily Sun.

According to the release, the people of the State are convinced of the IGP’s readiness to uphold the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the rule of law.

Lemu, in the release, assured that the Bauchi State Police Command, as one of the commands in the North Eastern, has kept crime at a minimum.

“The Command is constantly guided by rule of law, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the impeccable principles and orders of the Inspector General of Police,” the statement said.

It said further added that, “A fortnight ago the Inspector General of Police IGP Ibrahim Kpotum Idris, NPM, mni, was with the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria in Bauchi State and gave an assurance to the State Governor and the people of the State of his avowed commitment to ensure the maintenance of law and order, as well as the security of the State and the country at large by his administration.

“Consequently, on behalf of the officers and men of Bauchi State Police Command, I wish to express the Command’s absolute confidence on the IGP’s strategies in fighting crimes and criminality, despite the daunting challenges.”
