A Public Relation Officer with the 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, Borno State, has died in a motor accident. 

Captain Emmanuel Onyeachoram died following a road accident along Maiduguri- Damaturu road, in Yobe State, on Sunday while travelling to Lagos to attend a training.

A post on the WhatsApp platform of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, on Monday evening, said the officer was to attend “Advance Public Relations Course 2” at the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations (NASPRI).

Until his death, Capt. Onyeachoram was the Administration Officer of 7 Division Army Public Relations department.

“It is with pain that I wish to inform you on behalf of officers and soldiers of 7 Division  Army Public Relations of the demise of our Administration  Officer, Captain Emmanuel Onyeachoram.

“He was involved in a road traffic accident along Damaturu road, Yobe State while departing Maiduguri to attend Advance Public Relations Course 2 at NASPRI on Sunday 16th September 2018,” a post by Lt. Ajibola, from the department read.

The Daily Sun learnt that the officer died hours after the ghastly accident which occurred around Benesheik, a rustic community along Maiduguri-Damaturu highway.

Journalists and military personnel have been reacting to his demise, describing him as a gentle officer.

“I grieve over this sad loss of a dear friend Emmanuel,” NUJ Secretary, Borno State, Mohammed Ibrahim wrote.
