The Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) led by Uchenna Madu, on Monday, said that the defeat suffered by Bianca Ojukwu, wife of the late Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has justified the latter’s stand on the Biafra course.

It said that it had expected Bianca to steer clear from politics and stick to the course championed by her husband while alive which according to the group was targeted at getting justice for the marginalised Igbo nation.

Bianca had contested for the Anambra South Senatorial zone’s ticket for the 2019 general election with other aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) but lost to a business mogul, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu.

In a statement issued by its National Director of Information, Edeson Samuel, MASSOB wondered why some persons who reportedly expressed their reservations about the primaries in which she lost did not seem to be bothered about the uneasy calm in the Imo State’s chapter of the party.

This was even as MASSOB has disassociated itself from certain media reports which was reportedly issued by a pro-Biafra group (name withheld) which reportedly insisted that the late Igbo leader’s wife should be considered for the ticket.
