Board of Trustees (BoT) member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, yesterday said the victory of Victor Umeh in last Saturday’s Anambra Central rerun is for Ndigbo.
In a statement, the Ogirisi Igbo, who commended the electorate for voting the party and its candidate said the party is working round the clock to ensure the entire South East region becomes its stronghold.
“Our plan in 2018 is to ensure that APGA controls all elective positions in the entire South East region. We have no other party but APGA. The people spoke last Saturday and their voice was heard with Umeh’s victory. He deserved the support he got. He has done so well in promoting the Igbo agenda through the platform of our great party.
He is a political bulldozer who brought APGA from nothing to something, producing three governors and lawmakers at the federal level. His election has brought hope to the people who have been without a representative, owing to the activities of some selfish and greedy politicians in the zone. He truly deserves this victory,” Igbo said.
He added: .“We should not allow cowardice or ignorance to continue to diminish our potential. We are special species from the creator. A people who lost everything during the civil war are now richly blessed. What else can we ask of, rather than thank God. We have buried our dead, thereby opening the doors of blessings. Obiano’s victory, now Umeh, simply show that we must unite if we are to have one voice and be heard,” Ezeonwuka said.
He commended Governor Willie Obiano for his support, noting that the governor humbly led a massive campaign before the election.
The former national chairman of APGA got 64,879 votes out of about 67,000 votes cast in the seven local government areas of the zone.
