Ahead of the November 18 governorship poll in Anambra State, the candidature of Hon. Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has received a major boost following his endorsement by non-indigenes in the state.
Throwing their weight behind the APC’s candidate, secretary of Non-Indigenes Forum (NIF) , Prince Leke Oladunni, who is also a mecrchant, extolled the virtues of Hon. Nwoye, adding that he has the pedigree to govern the state.
Speaking on Saturday with a cross-section of journalists in Awka, Oladunni said,”most of us having lived in Awka for over two decades, understand the challenges facing the state and we strongly believe that Hon. Nwoye has the capacity to make life meaningful for indigenes and residents of the state.
“The APC candidate is a detrabilized Nigerian and as such he will continue to enjoy the support of all ethic groups in the state.
“With the APC at the federal level, Anambra state has a lot to gain if Hon. Nwoye is elected as Governor.
“The manifesto of the APC has received commendation from different quarters and with President Buhari’s fight against insurgency and corruption, the party will continue to wax strong.
“We have decided in our group that we shall vote en masse for Hon. Nwoye for the sake of development in the state”.
Oladunni while admonishing politicians to follow due process in their activities, stressed that the masses are yearning for good governance and ultimately dividends of democracy.
He also called on security agencies, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other stakeholders to work collectively in ensuring a free,fair and credible election.
