The people of Umunankwo community in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Monday, marched to Anambra Government House to protest the imposition of community leaders on them.

The protesters, armed with placards with various inscriptions, accused the Commissioner for Transport, Mrs. Chinwe Nwebili, of constituting and imposing Caretaker Committee members to rule over them thereby truncating the effort of the outgoing executives led by Mr. Victor Mbanefo, who were planning to conduct election for them.

Some of the placards read: ‘Chinwe Nwebili keep off from Umunankwo community affairs’, ChinweNwebili is a time bomb waiting to explode’ among others.

President-General of the community, Mr. Victor Mnbanefo, who led the protesters, accused the community of instigating communal crisis in their town. He alleged that, already, the serious tension is brewing in the community.

Mbanefo has, however, denied the allegation.
