THE All Progressives Congress (APC), Anambra State chapter has condoled with Governor Willie Obiano over the death of his mother, Mrs. Christiana Obiano.
Mrs. Obiano, 90, died Friday last week at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.
In a statement signed by APC’s state Publicity Secretary, Okelo Madukaife, said testimonies of the governor’s mother since her demise had shown that she was a devout Christian and strong public spirited woman.
The statement said: “Although we do not know so much about the deceased Mrs. Obiano, we have heard testimonies since her death last weekend, enough to understand that she was a devout Christian and strong public-spirited individual, who took family life seriously.
“If there is no other testimony to this, she will be buried as the mother of a governor and that is a height many women will seek to attain.
“We congratulate Governor Obiano, because he is the one burying his mother, a woman he has known and enjoyed her warmth for 62 years of his life, and not the other way round.
“Ndigbo appreciate this as an honour to her mother straight from God, which we proudly identify with, as we share this moment of grief that transcends partisan divides with Akpokuedike.”
