Less than a year former Super Eagles coach, Shuaib Amodu passed on, his 12 year old son, Suleiman Amodu has died.

The Late Suleiman, said to be a student of the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta was said to have died on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Randle Hospital in the Surulere area of Lagos.

A close confidant of the Late Amodu’s family, Segun Oguns, a former national team goalkeeper who confirmed the story to Daily SunSport said the boy died after a brief illness.

“Coach Amodu’s wife told me that her last son of 12 years plus Suleiman had returned home from school in Abeokuta and was not looking well and she had to take him to hospital for check up. Cholera was suspected but I learnt he was treated for Malaria and died on Sunday. He was buried same day.”

A very sad Oguns revealed that the Late Coach Amodu family had abandoned his immediate family and taken everything including cars from them. “It’s a sad development that really pains my heart. I can’t imagine how Coach Amodu’s siblings he labored to put through school have left his family to suffer. It’s a big shame.”

It would be recalled that the Late Coach Amodu formerly of the BCC and El-Kanemi qualified Nigeria for the World Cup twice in 2002 Korea/ Japan and South Africa 2010.
