Amaechi, Edo governor to grace SOAN dinner

Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi and Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki will, today,  grace the  Shipowners Association of Nigeria (SOAN) end-of-year workshop and dinner for shipowners and stakeholders in Nigeria’s maritime Industry.
Other dignitaries expected at the occasion include, the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Ms Hadiza Bala Usman; Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Dakuku Peterside; Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), Mr Hassan Bello and Rector, Maritime Academy, Oron, Commodore Emmanuel Effedua (rtd.) and the Executive Chairman of Foresight Limited,  Chairman EICC, Brussels, Dr. Ravi Mehrotra and a representative of the Managing Director of National Inland waterways Authority (NIWA).
Speakers at the occasion will include,  Mrs. Mfon Ekong Usoro, Partner, Paul Usoro & Co; Chairman Nigerian Port Consultative Council, Otunba S.K Folari; Chairman/MD, M.E Consulting Limited, Mr. Victor Eromosele and Managing Partner, Compliance Professional Plc, Mrs. Ifueko Omoigu Okauru.

A statement by SOAN, said that the workshop is expected to bring together all shipowners in Nigeria, policy makers, notable business leaders, captains of the maritime industry in both the private and public sectors to examine measures by which the fortunes of the Nigerian Maritime Industry can be improved upon so as to add to the nation’s Gross Domestic Products (GDP) as the Nigerian economy begins to rebound from recession.
