Excerpts:

How ready is your party for the 2019 elections in the state?

Generally, the party is ready. The primaries have been conducted and all the candidates have been generally accepted and peace has been established. And we are going to receive more decampees from the PDP. Our preparation is to go round and receive all those from different local governments. They signaled to us that they are willing to decamp to APC.

Are you confident that with your level of preparations that your party is going to come out victorious?

Of course. And that is because we have a lot of determined people and very good politicians on ground in Akwa Ibom state. Then generally, in Nigeria, the generality of the people who initially decamped from the party, most of them have changed their minds. With this, we have a lot of confidence that at the end of the day, we will come out victorious.

Your message to Akwa Ibomites regarding this coming election?

My message to Akwa Ibom people is that, it is not just that we want to win, we know that we are going to win. But the message is that Akwa Ibom people should be ready for performance. And so, they should join this crowd, the APC.
