A Nigerian teenager found alive in the country’s northeast after getting kidnapped by Boko Haram militants two years ago arrived on Thursday at the presidential villa in Abuja to meet President Muhammadu Buhari, a Reuters witness said.

On Wednesday, the army said it had, helped by a vigilante group, found the girl in the northeast where the jihadists have been waging a seven-year insurgency.

Amina Ali Darsha Nkeki entered Buhari’s office after having been flown from the northeastern city of Maiduguri to the capital Abuja on a presidential jet.
