The Oyo State Police Command recently rounded up over 40 suspects for armed robbery and car snatching and recovered of 15 arms and ammunition.

Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abiodun Odude, told Daily Sun that the command would be constantly raiding black spots and hideouts: “We have given them quit notice to stay away from the state. Police detectives, SCID, arrested a 10-man gang of armed robbers terrorizing the state particularly Yemetu, Ibadan. The suspects specialised in snatching cars, motorcycles and robbing victims in their homes.

“The suspects included Mukaila, Olomitutu, Nurudeen, Saheed, Hammed, Ridwan, Ojo and Usman. Six cut to size locally made guns were recovered from them.

“The Anti-Kidnapping Squad arrested some notorious armed robbers and kidnappers responsible for the spate of kidnapping and armed robbery in different parts of Oyo and Ogun states. On February 25, 2017, they trailed one Deborah from her shop at Ojoo to her residence in Akobo and robbed her.

“Some of the suspects were arrested by the Lagos State Police Command with the victim stolen car in Alausa Ikeja Lagos. “The suspect, Olamide, confessed to have serially broken into students hostels where various valuable items were carted away. They recovered three tiger generators, five gas cylinders, six refrigerators, six stand fans, eight stabilizers two HP laptops, three plasma TV, set, seven assorted mobile phones, eight rechargeable lamps, one pumping machine, one sewing machine and six GOTV decoders from him. He would soon be charged to court.
