The Jigawa State and Local Government Contributory Pension Board has released N419.487 million for 306 beneficiaries in the state.

This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu Kiyawa, while briefing newsmen on the payment yesterday in Dutse, the state capital.

He explained that the amount would cover all beneficiaries from the three months of December 2016 to the month of February 2017.

According to him, the payment is delayed up to three month so as to allow the board to meet-up with the work of compiling one hundred to one hundred and fifty files of beneficiaries.

The Executive Secretary revealed that, the beneficiaries are categorized into four for the payment of their rights.

He said, the first category include 212 retired beneficiaries who have issued their retirement letter in writing to the board seeking for their entitlements.

Kiyawa added that, the amount of over N298.748 million was for beneficiaries in that category.

He added that, the second category of the beneficiaries are those 65 people that have died while in service and will get the total amount of N11.274 million.

According to him, the third category of 24 beneficiaries are under the death pension balance and will get N18.792 million as their entitlement.

He said, the fourth category of beneficiaries are those who are not in service for up-to five years, the board will refund 8 percent to them amounting to N674 thousands. As their entitlement.

The executive secretary also called on the beneficiaries to avoid giving bribe to anybody in the process of collecting their benefit urging them to report any of his staffs that ask them for the bribe.

He then commended Governor Badaru his support to the board and releasing the pensioners entitlement in a right time.
