Zamfara State governor, Alhaji Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar has denounced a twitter account linking him with a presidential ambition in 2019.
A statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Alhaji Ibrahim Dosara described the twitter account as fraudulent, misleading and done with intent of causing mischief,
The statement read: ‘’The attention of Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has been drawn to several fake twitter accounts opened in his name and being operated by some fraudsters with the intention of causing mischief and fracas between the governor and the Presidency,”
The statement added that the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) chairman has neither indicated his interest to contest any political position in the country, nor asked anybody to campaign on his behalf for the position of the president in 2019.
“The general public is therefore advised to ignore any information from such fake online platform accounts and campaigners as they are fake and baseless.
“They are campaigners of calumny who are bent on tarnishing the image of governor Yari at all cost.”
