In order to ensure that Igbo living in Lagos State make impact in the 2019 general elections, Ndigbo United Association, the recognized political organ of Ndigbo in Lagos State, is to screen and streamline south-east candidates that would compete in different elective positions in Lagos State.

Speaking at a meeting with some of the candidates, the president of association, Dr Jonathan Nnaji said that for
Ndigbo to make impact in the 2019 elections, they must present a common front.

He said that all the Igbo who had picked the tickets of their parties would be screened by the association so that only the best would go to the field and win the election for Ndigbo in particular and Nigeria in general.

On his part, the Secretary General of Ndigbo group, Dr Femi Ferguson disclosed that a committee had been set up to screen the candidates.

He, however, lamented that some of the candidates sponsored and won elections in 2015 betrayed the mandate
of Ndigbo, adding that only those who have integrity would get the blessing of the association.
