A political pressure association, Rescue Bauchi Group, has endorsed former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, to run for the the state governorship election in 2019.

President of the group, John Akevi, made this known in a press release he jointly signed with the Bauchi State coordinator of the group, Abdullahi Gambo Abdullahi, which was made available to newsmen on Friday in Bauchi.

Akevi in the press release  acknowledged that a lot of politicians have shown interest in the 2019 governorship election including the incumbent governor Mohammed Abubakar, Senator Adamu Gumba, Senator Mohammed Abubakar, Senator Abubakar Maikafi, Senator Abdul Ningi,  Dr Ali Pate among others.

“After a close monitoring of interested persons and their contributions to Bauchi State in particular  and the nation at large, Rescue Bauchi Group unanimously and without reservations endorsed Senator Bala Mohammed and pitch out tent with his camp and solicit the support of all Bauchi State people for this glorious quest,” Akevi said.

He said that the group’s decision to choose Mohammed among the galaxy of qualified governorship aspirants was because of his intellectual capability, unparalleled commitment and his vast knowledge in the political circle.

“As a legislator from 2011 to 2010, Mohammed’s performance has been deemed outstanding and he proved himself as one of the brightest parliamentarians that Bauchi State has ever produced, with top notch legislative bills, motions and constituency projects to his name,” he explained.

Akevi further noted that Mohammed’s input as FCT minister from 2010 to 2015 was a testimony saying that the former minister is a humble and focused leader “whose antecedents showed him to be a highly dedicated person capable of addressing the current problems confronting the state”

He described Senator Mohammed as a detribalised Nigerian who commands goodwill both nationally and internationally.

“We hereby deploy all resources to embark on relentless mobilisation to support the election of Senator Bala Mohammed. It is our prayer and appeal to citizens to lend support to this noble cause,” he said
