Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State have reaffirmed their unwavering determination to wrestle power from the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu -led state government.

They inisisted that the Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP)-led administration has not lived up to expectations of Abia people. According to them, the membership of the APC in Abia State is fast growing and as such, the party is prepared to take over the state in 2019.

These remarks were made yesterday at the APC caucus meeting held at Isi-Court event centre, Umuahia.

In his welcome address,  Abia State APC Chairman,  Donastus Nwankpa, urged members to sustain their loyalty to the party by mobilsing more members for the party at the ward and local government levels, noting that politics is a game of numbers.

“ With the recent appointments of some of our members into boards of federal parastatals , we are confident that the appointees will use their positions to add value to the party and Abia State.  We shall, in due course, constitute committees that will be saddled with different responsibilities for the sake of the party.”

Nwankpa also charged chieftains of the party to take the lead in the setting up of party offices at the ward and local government levels across Abia State.

The APC Board of Trustess and Chairman Abia APC Caucus, Chief Sam Nkire,  tasked stakeholders to strenthen the party in their localities, adding that with the calibre of politicians in the party, the APC is equipped to win future elections in the state.

He said, “today’s meeting is impressive especially with the attendance and I am glad that we are all gathered under one roof as a family to advance the cause of the APC and Abia State.

“The only political vehicle that will take our state to the desired destination is the APC.

“Going forward,  Abians will not condolence rightly and other malpractice during elections.  If you are given a responsibility as a party faithful , do it wholeheartedly . If you are given garden eggs to distribute, kindly distribute as  expected. The issue of factions should also not be mentioned among us. We will achieve more by being in unity.” Kalu stated.
